Journey

Today, recognition of the friends and partners, who provide a safe haven to heal.

Recovering from Childhood Sexual Abuse is a long and continuing journey. As I reflect on my recovery, I recognize that although I physically survived, invisible injuries persist. Among the deepest wound is the compromised ability to trust and love.

I am blessed with an amazing partner who, for nearly 25 years, has provided me a safe harbor and room to heal. I believe her unfailing acceptance, love, and understanding have helped me to rebuild my ability to love and be loved even when it’s difficult to love myself.

  • Who are the people in your life who provide safe space for you to heal?
  • How will you express love for yourself today?
